Updated Covid Guidelines for Tryouts

Huge day for Greenville Little League as it is our first day of 2021 tryouts. This is truly the best time of the year in my humble opinion.
I was informed yesterday by the City that restrictions have loosened a bit regarding the wearing of face coverings. Before publishing this I wanted to confirm the answers to a few questions that I had so that I can be absolutely sure that the procedures in place for our tryouts fall within the state guidelines.
SOCIAL DISTANCING IS A HUGE FACTOR IN THE EQUATION THAT ALLOWS US TO HAVE TRYOUTS WITHOUT AS MANY FACE COVERING RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE. SO, OBSERVE SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES AT ALL TIMES....PLEASE!

1.
All of our volunteer check in people and youth who we have prescheduled to work at tryouts must still wear a face covering.
2. Parents or other observers can stand behind the outfield fence
(from foul pole to foul pole) socially distanced without face
coverings. If you cannot find a space along the fence that
allows social distancing then move to the bleacher area, one
of the decks. Parents or other observers, for tryouts are asked
to NOT BE LEANING ON THE BRICK WALLS ALONG THE
SIDELINES AS WELL.
3. Coaches are to observe tryouts from the stadium seating area
only. Coaches may bring chairs and sit on the sidewalks
behind the net and in front of the seating area. Coaches, IF THEY ARE SOCIALLY DISTANCED, may observe tryouts without a face covering.
4. The players are my responsibility. I will make darn sure they are socially distanced while waiting in line. As long as they stay 6 feet apart while in line (which I will make sure of) they may go through tryouts without a face covering.
As it was put to me, we have been given an inch, don't take a mile. Let's make sure we cherish that inch and we work our way through what we hope is normalcy.
